I bought three pots of medium size plants and planted them in the back of a perennial bed. They took off !!! immediately, and I thought I would get a lot of fall blooms for our over-wintering hummingbirds. They didn't bloom as expected, but wow, they bloomed all winter. We had a mild winter, but still they hung in during freezing temps at night and didn't stop blooming until January. I didn't cut them back, and they came budding out and blooming in March and are still blooming in April. I should have but them back, but kind of wanted to see what they would do left to their own devices. I really love these plucky plants and they look great in the back of the bed!

'Golden Delicious' makes an excellent vertical foliage accent plant and looks great in mass plantings. Great in landscapes or containers, where it works alone or in large combinations.
Maintenance Notes:Golden foliaged plants may sunburn in very high light. In areas with strong sun this plant may benefit from afternoon shade. Golden Delicious is heat and humidity tolerant, as well as downy mildew resistant. For most gardeners this is a foliage plant only. It does get red flowers in fall, in some long-season climates.
Grown mainly for its great yellow-green foliage, in very long season climates red flowers may appear. The more sun the foliage receives the brighter the chartreuse color. In more shade, the foliage is more green. It is an outstanding vertical foliage accent. It is very heat and humidity tolerant.

I bought three in small pots this spring ,with small amounts of red flowers. Loved the color and the smell! Put them in my garden and they took off...huge!. Rebloomed late summer thru frost; amazing show. Died back to ground(Jan.).

I LOVE this plant. It has great design value in the border. Even though you say it only grows 12"-24", in our full sun beds, we've had it grow 3'to 4'. Wonderful accent plant.

2009 was the first time I grew it. Through our hot days that were over 100, the sage performed wonderfully! It never wilted, even in the all day full sun. It is still going strong even now in November, and the flowers make the plant look so fresh.

Excellent choice for contrasting against a darker foliage. I've grown this plant on Long Island NY and Charleston, SC.
