    Features

    Very full, showy flowers.

This is a distinctive, showy take on our beloved native oakleaf hydrangea. Doubled florets are similar to those of 'Harmony,' but more weather-resistant. The tightly packed, pure white florets create very full, conical panicles with a unique 'quilted' effect. As the bloom ages, it turns a nice shade of green that lasts through most of the summer. The green foliage has wonderful wine-red fall color.

    • I've had one of these plants for about 8 years, It produces huge, full flowers, with tightly-packed petals. It's beautiful in the fall too, as the leaves turn burgundy. However, the flowers flop quite a bit because the stems are not strong enough to hold them up. Also, the Japanese Beetles love it.

    • I am crazy about Oakleaf hydrangeas, and after watching 4 Gatsby Gal thrive and grow perfectly over the last 4-5yrs I decided I had to try Gatsby Moon. I bought 2 quart-sized, on sale, during the Fall of last year. They did well but, as with many quart-sized plants from PW, didn't emerge in Spring looking healthy after a very wet winter. I transplanted them to a more elevated place, to improve drainage (clay soil) and they immediately thrived. I love them so much I bought 2 more gallon-sized for a different spot, which grew over a foot and had perfect flowers, still lovely today. As long as thEy have good drainage, they will thrive.

    • I planted one of these 5 years ago and it is one of my favorite plants. It has something for all seasons, it has cool leaves all the time, the flowers start white and then dry as a pink/rust green that adds interest to the winter garden. Such a great, low maintenance shade plant!!!
