    Maintenance Notes:

Hibiscus love the sun and need moist, well-drained soil. Keeping these plants watered will result in larger flowers and lush foliage. Deadheading will improve the appearance of the plant, but is not necessary for continued bloom. It is best to plant Hibiscus in the garden before the heat of the summer arrives, and should be heavily mulched the first winter. In spring, cut back any remaining stems before new growth appears. Do not trim back in fall. A strong pair of loppers or a saw will be necessary to cut this plant back. Be advised that Hibiscus is always one of the last perennials to emerge in spring. Be patient, even if you think it is dead, it most likely isn't. Its vigorous growth rate more than makes up for this late start, however. Japanese beetles find these plants especially delicious.

    • This is such a beautiful plant! So many people stop and complement the showy flowers. Easy to grow, too. I have mine in hot full sun and it tolerates it well.

    • I started with 5 small Evening Rose Hibiscus purchased online. The 1st season was about surviving 7b full sun as baby plants. 2nd season, the green growth was substantial, reaching 4’ and producing few but large blooms. This 3rd season if FANTASTIC! Everything I hoped for: covered with big, beautiful blooms continuously. I wanted to be able to enjoy the show at the back border from inside my cool house. They are backed by other green foliage shrubs which shows the darker Evening Rose Hibiscus leaves wonderfully and the huge deep rose blooms magnificently. Do keep them well watered always. I am glad they are placed where they can be enjoyed at a distance. This way the fading blooms extend the show and any Japanese beetle damage (I have none) will not detract.

    • I bought 3 of these about 44 dollars each based on what proven winners said that they are deer resistant. I know that means not deer proof. Now unfortunately all 3 have been eaten to great extent. I am so fustrated because I know other hibiscus is not so when I saw these I was excited, but hesitant. It's alot of money to throw away like that. I always look for your brand no matter what. And believe me I know deer will eat anything. But I feel that was false advertising on your part. I feel very disappointed. When you put your trust in a brand it's not a good thing when that trust is broken. I'll hope for the best but it's not looking good.

    • Gorgeous, vigorous, and easy to grow plant. I have six of them in full baking sun. There’re on drip, so do get ample water. Great foliage and lots of blooms and here in NC (zone 7b) they’re still blooming in October. Only two negatives.....Japanese beetles love the foliage (as do deer), so they will need protection.
