SunPatiens^® Compact Hot Pink Impatiens x hybrida

Great plants that can take the sun and heat. Planted these in early May which in my zone is late. Usually plant annuals in late March, early April. Now it’s early July and these things have already gotten huge. Bigger than a basketball at about 18 inches wide. Started out about soft ball size in those 16oz containers that resemble solo drinking cups. A bit pricey at 6$ each especially if you need a lot for big beds but worth it over the cell pack ones because they grow so much faster with the bigger root ball. Several 100+ degree days already this year and they haven’t batted an eyelash. Just used a slow release fertilizer at planting and have been literally non stop blooms. Only negative I can say is they are water hogs especially when developing their root system so prepare to water everyday. Don’t count on your sprinkler system either these will still need supplemental watering, when established you may get away with every other day watering if your sun isn’t to intense. Did I mention non stop blooms? I mean literally covered in blooms barely see any greenery. If you are willing to put the time into the daily watering needs this plant won’t disappoint. Best annual I’ve ever grown, hands down. I’d like to add I have sandy well draining soil. If you have clay or heavy loam your results will likely vary but give ‘‘em a try and see cause they are worth it.
