Professional Growing Information I planted this in the ground in San Diego a couple of years ago for the splash of golden foliage. It hasn't disappointed. It has stayed full and grows more horizontally than vertically after a certain point and I've been told I'll have to trim it to keep a good shape. You have to trim everything in San Diego, so that's fine. Bonus is that as a fast grower, even if it got too leggy, I could replace them and have a good sized plant in a short amount of time. Too many plants here are just the same shade of green so I look for varying foliage colors to liven the landscape.

Do a little, get a lot. Licorice plants are exceptionally easy to grow. They dont need much in the way of fertilizers. Avoid over-watering. Restrained grower with velvety-soft foliage. Pale chartreuse.

I used this plant in a container planting. It started out very nice, but as the summer progressed, the leaves started turning grey and then died. I kept cutting out the dead parts, but I finally had to totally remove the plant from the container.
