I bought 4 spikes 7 years ago and decided to try to overwinter them. One survived. I'm in Zone 4a and it goes outside every summer and overwinters inside the house. It started out less than a foot tall and is now over 4 feet tall with a trunk that has a diameter of almost 2".

I must say when I ordered these I didn’t think I’d like them as much as I do. I am in zone 7a NJ. They have been planted since May and it is now December and they still look amazing. I have them in containers and go with any annuals I plant. Definitely a must have in the garden.

Planted three in a grouping in the landscape this past spring. It is now December in our zone 6a, 34 degrees out. They are still going strong! They move in the wind like a little palm tree would and look pretty with snow on them.
