Beautiful coleus, very vigorous. In a pot it got large full and heavy. Wind snapped it off just above dirt level and it started over again. My solution was to plant it in a smaller plastic pot which I put down into a larger ceramic pot. The weight of the pot and the support of the sides of the pot kept the coleus safe from breakage. I ordered from PW web site. My local nursery offers no name coleus that underperform PW coleus. It was worth the expense. It was particularly worth the investment during the pandemic. My front street garden was frequented by many who came by daily and stood in the street to absorb the beauty.

Maintenance Notes:Many people feel that coleus look best before they flower. We have worked hard to choose coleus that bloom late in the season or not at all. To keep foliage in top shape, pinch off the blooms as they appear if you wish.
Rules of Thumb for Overwintering Plants Indoors:
1. Choose only healthy plants
2. Bring Plants indoors before frost damages foliage
3. Treat for disease and insects before bringing plants indoors
4. Place in bright areas and add humidity using pebble trays or spray bottles
5. Be careful not to over water
6 When active growth starts in spring fertilize and prune as needed
7. Introduce your plants slowly to outdoor conditions in spring
An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.

I purchased this plant to use in both sun and shade locations, as well as in ground and container applications. I have found that although the plant does survive in both sun and shade, when used in part shade, the golden coloration is significantly diminished, if nonexistent. The yellow color that exists in the sun does not exist in the shade or part shade environment. Instead, it tends to turn a medium green with burgundy veining. It is still a beautiful plant in the shade, but is not the color that is advertised. The coleus does perform exceptionally well as advertised in sunny applications as long as it is kept adequately watered. Stick with other types of coleus if you are planning to use this for its advertised color in a part shade or shade situation. Beautiful plant!

One of my favs. I love the chartreuse blended with the red. Grew almost 3 feet tall in both sun and shade. I buy this annual every year. Everyone who looks at it is drawn to it.

This coleus is amazing! Almost 4 feet tall in dappled shade all day. You only need one plant in an 18 inch pot for huge impact. We are into October , and have not had to pinch any blooms at all.
