I live in NC and my back deck gets full sun all day, every day. It is severely hot and sunny and most plants can't take it. I put this plant in a pot that gets morning shade and afternoon sun (the hottest part of the day). It is doing great! It was blooming when I bought it in the late spring and has never stopped blooming. It has a lovely cascading flow to it and is getting fuller and thicker each day. Mine isn't as tall as this description says it will get to be, but for my container with rosemary and white coneflowers (both taller than this plant), this is the perfect balance.

Maintenance Notes:Whirlwind fan flowers are low maintenance annuals that thrive in tough conditions. These Australian natives can handle intense sun, heat, humidity and drought. Since their flowers are self-cleaning, no deadheading is needed to stay in bloom from planting until frost.
Mixing Proven Winners Continuous Release plant food into the soil at time of planting should keep them happy all season. A second application midsummer is recommended in warm climates with extended growing seasons.Whirlwind® White Scaevola aemula 'Bomy Whit' USPP 20,790 -
