Despite claiming this plant is mildew resistant, it is not. It looks like my entire plant has rotted out and away. How unfortunate. This is deceptive and you really shouldn’t be lying to people like this.

I purchased this from a local greenhouse, even though PW's website says no one has it for sale in my area. And a couple do. It also says it is mildew resistant. Well after a few weeks I noticed I had quite a bit of mildew on the plant. It's definitely NOT mildew resistant. I'm still waiting to see any buds. I hope the bees like it.

I've had this plant in my garden for the last 2 years. It is absolutely gorgeous! I've have not had any issues with mildew of any kind. It did great during the growing season. During the winter I pruned it all the way down to the ground. It is coming back more beautiful then ever!

I love proven winner plants and I always have great success with them. But, not in this case! For a plant that is particularly supposed to be mildew resistant...ALL (7 plants) my plants got mildew with leaves that turned black and the whole plant seemed to die. Now in 2021 they are all coming up now in spring, so we'll see what happens to them this year. I never had that happen before. I really panicked because it seemed to spread to other plants like a plague. I sprayed horticultural oil on them but it did nothing. Any advice?

I believe this plant originated at the Experimental Farm. It is very hardy, vibrant purple in colour, and easy to grow. Every year I share isome roots with friends. I love it!
