    Maintenance Notes:

Consistently moist, but not wet soils are the best possible conditions, but they can tolerate some dry soils.  However, prolonged periods of dry conditions will cause leaf drop in response to the drought stress. An application of controlled release fertilizer at the beginning of the season and again in mid-summer will keep them looking their best. If yellowing leaves or leaf drop commences first check that water application is appropriate.  If the issue continues, you may need to fertilize.

These plants are naturally upright, but can climb on a trellis with some help getting started with attachment to the trellis.  In either application they are a gorgeous addition to your garden or patio.
