Features

Full sized flowers on a dwarf plant!

Meet Pugster Blue® - it's a whole new look for butterfly bush. This compact plant reaches just 2'/.6 m tall and wide but has the large, full flowers normally seen on a much larger plant. It blooms non-stop from early summer through frost with true-blue flowers, each with a tiny yellow-orange eye in the center. Thanks to thick, sturdy stems, the Pugster® series offers vastly improved hardiness and winter survival over other types of dwarf butterfly bush.

Top three reasons to grow Pugster Blue® butterfly bush:
1. Appealing true-blue flowers add hard-to-find color to any type of garden or landscape.
2. It produces full-sized flowers on a compact, dwarf frame.
3. Thick, sturdy stems ensure better winter hardiness in zone 5 than other dwarf butterfly bush.

  • I bought this because I love blue flowers and wanted a smaller Bush.
It has grown very well, but it is bigger than advertised. Mine is 4 ft wide and 30” tall.
The negative is that is is not self cleaning and I’m continuously having to clip off browned flowers. Since it is a prolific bloomer, the plant never looks pretty as it’s a sea of brown mixed in with the blue. I’m deadheading every 2 weeks.

Marginally Adequate Performed below expectations but may be willing to try again.

  • I bought this beautiful blue dwarf blue butterfly bush three years ago. I have had no problems and given essentially no care after it rooted. I have it in a rock garden in central Texas. The blooms are very large on this compact bush and are outstanding! Very low maintenance. The blooms are very dark blue and lighten slightly the longer they are in bloom. A real winner and I highly recommend for smaller gardens. Be sure to plant where you can enjoy it from a window, your porch/patio.

Outstanding My favorite plant, I recommend to others all the time and explain the reasons why I like it so much.

  • I bought this because it said the blooms were true blue. I love blue flowers. This. one has BROWN blooms with tiny amounts of blue - not what I was hoping for at all. It is just plain ugly.

Unsatisfied Did not survive, inferior performance or did not bloom well - won't grow again.
