    Maintenance Notes:

For best rebloom, give Bloom-A-Thon azaleas a light, all-over trim when their spring bloom fades. This encourages new growth, which is what will be responsible for producing the flower buds for the rebloom.
If you are growing Bloom-A-Thon azalea at the colder end of its hardiness range, avoid late season planting, which leaves the plant under-prepared for winter's challenges. Do not fertilize any Bloom-A-Thon azalea after mid-July. Like all azaleas and rhododendrons, Bloom-A-Thon reblooming azaleas benefit significantly from a 2-3" thick layer of shredded bark mulch.

    Fun Facts:

All azaleas are rhododendrons, but not all rhododendrons are azaleas. However, they all have the same care requirements: cool, moist, acidic soil, and shade during the hottest part of the day.

    • I was disappointed when I received this plant as a gift because I live in Minnesota where it is definitely not hardy for my zone. However I potted it up and in the fall it actually bloomed even though it was quite small. Since it was a gift from my mom I brought it in the house thinking I would probably kill it over the winter with the dry air in my house. However it thrived. I have it in a north window and although I keep it moist my humidity is definitely low. Currently it is blooming again. I am kind of loving this plant.
