    Features

    The prettiest potentilla!

Most people plant potentilla because they just need something tough. And Happy Face Hearts potentilla is that - but it's also pretty enough to feature in your landscape. It's covered in flowers from spring until frost. Each bloom starts out with a cheery yellow center which then feathers into white for an apple blossom-like effect. Bright green foliage is lightly furry, which deters deer and rabbits. Available in better garden centers in spring 2018.

Top reasons to grow Happy Face Hearts® potentiilla:

    - Blooms from spring til frost - one of the longest blooming shrubs you'll find.

    - Extremely cold hardy.

    - Resistant to deer and rabbits.

    Uses Notes:

Due to its extreme toughness and long bloom time, potentilla is a versatile landscape plant. It is often planted en masse in parking lots and traffic islands, but at home, it works well as an edging, foundation planting, or even among many other plants in a flower garden.

    Maintenance Notes:

Potentilla is easy to grow and fairly care-free, but it will benefit from a trim every few seasons to renew its vigor and coverage. Do this in early spring. If it gets very hot, the pink color will be less intense, but it will return quickly when temperatures cool down a bit.

    Fun Facts:

This species of potentilla (now called Dasiphora fruticosa by some) has a huge native range across North America, including all of Canada.

    • This plant struggled to bloom once ordered and planted in the ground. After a month in the summer zone 7b heat all leaves fell and plant branches are very dry. I scratched at the wood and there is some green life underneath. I will see if I can replant in container and move to a part shade area.
