I bought 22 of these hollies and they all went in the ground the day I bought them. 12 of them are doing amazing all those are almost double in size. The rest are the same size as the day I bought them I literally mean the same size and a few lost half their bodies.. they have leaves but thin.. bunnies never touch them or other animals.. have them since 2018.. PW is not responding to my questions.. $18 I think i paid for each one.. not on sale. I wish I had paid sale price I would be hurting less..

Maintenance Notes:According to the Humane Society of America Ilex berries can be toxic to pets. This is means that the plants are generally identified as having the capability for producing a toxic reaction.
Tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions including urban pollution. Prefers moist soils with good drainage. Adaptable to most soil pH levels, though chlorosis (leaf yellowing) may occur in alkaline soils. This can be prevented or treated by fertilizing twice a year in early spring and again in early summer. Maintains a columnar shape without pruning. If pruning is necessary shear in early to mid-summer. Moderate water, drought resistant once established. Evergreen -slower grower. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for evergreens. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.

I purchased three Sky Pointers at a big box store at the end of the season on sale. I planted them in early November in zone 6b, obviously not ideal, and the weather turned quite cold very shortly thereafter. I pruned off the little bits of the plant that had dieback this spring and the plants are doing fabulous! It’s now August and they are super dark green and growing very well. They are planted along the fence at the back of my yard and look great.
