    • These shrubs spread by suckers a lot, in my experience (clay soil, moderate water). I ended up digging two out because they exceeded the space, and I still have one that I watch and prune out the suckers. They do have pretty, early spring flowers.

    • The flowers on this Double Take Quince are just lovely. They look like minature little rosettes and the color is very bright salmon-y-orange. I have four of them in my zone 6A garden (full sun) and they have performed well even though the soil I have them planted in is definitely sub-par (dry and poor quality). It is nearly thornless and has a couple sporadic blooms throughout the summer after the large wave of blooming in early spring. My suggestion though is to make sure you have enough space for it. I tried to squeeze mine into a too-small space and have to trim a lot due to their robust growth. If you have the space, this is a wonderful shrub! I recommend it!

    • Absolutely stunning! One of the first to bloom and certainly a favorite. Produces beautiful, bright orange flower that look very much like camellias. Like my favorite "proven" plants, I keep going back for more! Truly a "Proven Winner"
