This shrub is absolutely lovely, the description is very accurate. I purchased on online from Proven Winners about 3 years ago. It is flourishing in an area of the yard where the soil remains wet during the winter and sometimes has standing water for several days. Despite the 95F+ temps and beastly heat this summer it is still beautiful. The shrub has a nicely rounded shape and has never burned when the big canine boys relieve themselves on it. Great for rain gardens!
Buttonbush has long been prized as a native, but it was way too big for most landscapes. Not anymore! We've cut the size in half and added colorful red fruit and glossy foliage. Add in cool looking, fragrant white flowers and you've got a delightful plant that shines from spring to fall.
