Oso Easy Italian Ice^® Rose Rosa x

My Oso Easy Roses have NOT been easy. I purchased 10 from Home Depot in the fall of 2022 after seeing them on a popular garden site. I wanted something small and compact with color by the entrance to my home. They definitely give my garden color, but they are NOT as small or as compact as seen on the chart on their site. I purchased 7 of the Hot Paprika, 2 Italian Ice, and one At Last. All of the plants have exceeded the expected height, as seen on the Proven Winners Landscape Roses chart. ALL grow tall ugly stalks double the height of the plant throughout the spring and summer. Rather than leave a poor review, I contacted Proven Winners early in the summer. They replied quickly but were not helpful. I was told to continue to trim them, and they would be compact next year. I'm now in the process of digging them up to put them in a less-seen spot in the backyard. I hope that I like them next year.

Based on the photos, I thought these were going to be a much softer color than what I ended up with…the color is much more saturated than what I was looking for. They were pretty, but didn’t work for any of my beds. Pretty and easy to care for, they just weren’t for me,

Very pleased with the condition of the plants when they arrived. I got 2 oso easy itallian ice and mango salsa. They are now planted and thriving well. Beautiful and oh so adorable. I wish I could show you some pictures. Will definetly order directly from proven winners again.

I ordered six 2 gallon size Oso Easy Italian ice Rose Bushes. Five appeared healthy at first; one bloomed the first week it was planted. After it bloomed, it begin to deteriorate. Per instructions from Proven Winner staff, I trimmed the dark stems, removed all spotted dark leaves and basically cut plant down to the ground. Now that rose is perking up with green foliage and appears healthy. The remaining five bushes all had buds on them and they all bloomed the second week and they were beautiful! Once they were done blooming, things went downhill. The leaves turned yellow and many leaves had dark brown/black spots on them. Also, some insect apparently thought they were good eating, as the leaves started having. holes in them. I sprayed NEEM oil lightly on the bushes. Today, 06/16/22, the five bushes are looking pretty bad. The leaves are falling off, there are no buds, but I do see some new growth. I have taken very good care of these roses and am hoping they will survive, as they are beautiful; and my order was quite expensive! I assumed that the roses would look like those advertised (in the video) and I thought they would be blooming all summer. I didn't do my homework, and now know that since they are newly planted roses (first year), it will take a year or two to bloom heartily. I wish this was explained in the advertisement. I am hoping that the roses will perk up and bloom as beautifully as they did the first week we planted them. (We used good quality compost, top soil, along with quality mulch to keep the soil moist. We planted them as instructed and do not overwater them (and when we water them it is below the leaves, not from the top). The staff at Proven Winners have all been very helpful and have been advising me what to expect with these first year rose bushes. I am optimistic that the six Oso Easy Italian ice rose bushes will improve, grow and look like the beautiful multi-colored ones in Proven Winners advertisements and videos. Hi, we were so excited to purchase this plant as the reviews were fantastic and we are new to gardening and did not want to plant something that needed much care. This rose bloomed great for us last year however this year we do not see any sign of it regrowing. Unfortunately we have waited to long and will be unable to return as we so hoped it would grow again.
