    Features

In a perfect world, azaleas would bloom for months instead of just weeks and have big, full flowers with pure and true colors. That's exactly what Perfecto Mundo® azaleas do. This innovative series comes from award-winning plant breeder Dr. Tom Ranney of NCSU.

Perfecto Mundo Double Pink azalea is the series debut, a neat, rounded shrub that's covered with double pink blooms in spring, when other azaleas bloom, but then after a brief rest, begins blooming again in mid summer and continues through frost. Look for more colors to come as we make sure each possibility measures up to our standards.

Top reasons to grow Perfecto Mundo Double Pink azalea:

    - Reblooming azalea provides months of blooms, not merely weeks.

    - Resistant to lacebug, a pest that can be problematic in certain areas.

    - Grows in sun or part shade.

    Continuous Bloom or Rebloomer

    Uses Notes:

Azaleas are a classic choice for landscaping, especially planted in front of homes and on banks. Planting a reblooming azalea like Perfecto Mundo Double Pink means you get more flowers, however you wish to incorporate them into your landscape or garden.

    Maintenance Notes:

Perfecto Mundo Double Pink azalea blooms on old wood in spring, then later, on new wood. As such, it should only be pruned immediately after its spring bloom. Even if it does't need pruning, it's not a bad practice to give the plant a light trim after its spring bloom, which encourages new growth - the more new growth it puts on after that spring bloom, the more rebloom you'll get.

A note on hardiness: Perfecto Mundo Double Pink azalea is hardy to USDA zone 6b, and is better suited to milder coastal areas of zone 6b than harsh Midwestern sites. If you wish to plant it in zone 6b, select a protected location and mulch well. Do not fertilize after mid-July in these areas.

If you do wish to fertilize, do so in early spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge, and then again after the spring bloom is complete. Use a rose fertilizer.

    • I received mine a couple weeks ago. Green, healthy, in perfect condition. A little bit on the small side, but very healthy. No flowers as it's late in the season. Looking forward to blooms next spring!

    • I ordered four of these and four of the pink carpet azaleas. These were nearly dead when I received them and now show no signs of life. Meanwhile, the four pink carpet azaleas are all healthy and doing well.

    • Still blooming January 2021 even though first planted in June 2020. Shot out a few blooms in first month and has continued through our mild winter!
